Become a member
While South Leicestershire Dementia Community (SLDC) is a registered charity, we ask that people using our services become a members. This membership helps contribute towards the costs of running our activities and maintaining the timetable of events designed to support the dementia community in our area.
We understand that living with dementia can bring additional financial pressures. No one should be prevented from accessing our services due to cost. If you are unable to afford the family membership, please get in touch with us—we are happy to discuss options so that everyone can participate and benefit from SLDC’s support.
We offer a family membership for £40 per month. This allows members and their family/friends to attend as many SLDC activities as they wish.

More about ADRE →How SLDC began
South Leicestershire Dementia Community (SLDC) is a new, community-based charity, created to continue and expand vital support services for people affected by dementia in our area. Since 2019, our partner ADRE has run a wide range of activities that are highly valued by people living with dementia and their loved ones, and which have established a strong and trusted reputation locally.
As ADRE grows and refocuses on its research work across the United Kingdom and Europe, SLDC has been launched to continue these support services at a local level—ensuring that services such as Share and Care and carers’ support remain accessible, relevant, and deeply embedded in the community.
